Service Description

Postpartum Reconnect and Restore – Bring Your Baby!: Whether you had a vaginal or cesarean birth, this holistic, whole-body corrective exercise style program prioritizes proper breathing techniques to safely and gently reconnect, activate and engage the powerhouse of your body - the core - with an emphasis on improving diastasis recti and restoring pelvic floor health. We will also incorporate meditation and relaxation techniques to soothe both body and mind, promoting and supporting the healing process. This whole-body program will focus on optimizing the muscles of the inner core (diaphragm, transverse abdominals and pelvic floor) while mastering muscle activation in basic movement patterns such as squats, lunges, bending, twisting, pulling and pushing. These types of movements are executed every single day, whether picking up a child, getting out of bed, opening a car door, or mopping the floor. We will begin our class with breath and core activation. After your core is activated and engaged, we will move on to safe and gentle strength circuits utilizing hand weights, resistance bands and/or barre balls that will target your glutes, core, chest, and shoulder girdle to assist in lessening common postpartum discomforts. This will strengthen the foundational muscles that provide posture, stability, balance, and deep, holistic strength. Say goodbye to chronic conditions such as lower back pain, sacro-iliac joint dysfunction, urinary/bowel incontinence, pelvic pain, and sciatic pain. We will end class with a stress-relieving, grounding meditation. Be prepared to leave class feeling energized and relaxed! Please bring a water bottle and wear comfortable workout clothing. Grippy socks are optional as barefoot is preferred. *I encourage you to allow your body at least 6 weeks of rest and healing prior to engaging in this class. That said, I honor each woman’s individual judgement and decision. Meet Your Instructor: My name is Krista and I am the founder of One Strong Mother, Prenatal and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Training. I am a Fit for Birth Prenatal and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist, Diastasis Core Consultant and Holistic Fertility & Pregnancy Safe Coach. Additionally, I am a prenatal and postpartum doula, student midwife, Reiki Master, paramedic and avid advocate for the health and well- being of pregnant and postpartum women and their babies!
